Nevertheless, like any artist with a mile-long discography, Piaf collections range from excellent and comprehensive to rather cheap and “bulk rate.” Rajon’s The Great Edith Piaf is packed with 48 songs sung by this popular French singer, but not necessarily the best versions, for most of this material was recorded more than once by her. Even as Rajon surrenders little or no information about Piaf, this set was not designed to be used as an educational tool. The Great Edith Piaf is a sampler that could meet the needs of the casual listener very nicely.
