question mom overprotective with little brother?

okay, so my little brother is like 12 and my mom dosnt want him to or dosnt think he knows ANYTHING. like the other day I said someone was a pothead, and my mom had a private convo with me and told me not to reffer to anyone as that around him cause he dosnt know what that means and stuff, hes 12 and should know somthing… I didnt get any sex ed from my parents at all, they sent me to the sivler ring thing and that was it, but everything else my parents have been great with, its just this, I dont really know, what should I do? or what do you think of this situation? I am 14 my brother is 12 my parents are older and me and my brother are the only children and when I say older I mean 47-50

I think your parents don’t want to see you and your brother grow up. It seems to me that they want you to be 5 again but you aren’t. I think you need to sit down with them and tell them you are growing but will always be their children.
