Fit Mat

I have a poster of dimensions 16.5 x 22. How should i go about framing it? What size frame and mat?

I did buy a 18″ x 24″ frame, but not sure if thats the right size, i feel like it wouldnt be much of a mat, cause the poster almost fits in the opening.
